Routine:
Total time: 80-min (120-min w/ cool-down)
Incline backwards treadmill walking–10-min
Incline treadmill intervals–35-min (30sec on, catch breath 80%, repeat. 10% incline at 8mph).
Incline backwards treadmill walking–10-min
Midsection–25-min
Bird-dog, side plank, crunch, clamshells (quick breaks 20-45sec between exercises)
Post-workout cool-down–40-min
Foam roller, stretching, McKenzie exercise for lower back, Hutchins knee-extension exercise, etc.
Notes:
- Building up the intervals. The intervals were more manageable today. For several, I even pushed for longer and faster than 8mph.
- Lots of flow today. Felt good.
- Used “LMNT” minerals to help keep me going. I did this one on an empty stomach, but I did great.
- No lower-back pain. Knees are good, too, still.
- I’m playing to my strengths, which is really important. I am building myself up.
- I used a foam-roller technique from Paul Chek today to open up and mobilize the front of the body. Link here. Also, I used contract-relax stretching to make some quick mobility gains–always nice! (Check out Pavel Tsatsouline’s Relax Into Stretch for that).
